Outside the classroom Thursday and Friday
The students will show their inventions. Each class has built its own prototype to contribute to the Global Goals to keep the beaches and the sea cleaner. They have programmed Arduino to get some parts to move or to feel the junk. They have also designed smaller prototypes in Tinkercad https://www.tinkercad.com/ that they have printed on a 3D printer.
Inside the classroom
Thursday
Jenny Forsberg will show two games/programmes that she and her company are developing for our school. One of the games is a workout program for short breaks during the study hours and the other is a video game with curricular questions. The aim of the project is for the students to achieve higher physical och mental health.
The others students will work with different things. Depending on your arrival time you will see one or several of the following interactive tools:
Quizlet : It is an interactive study material with learning activities and games. The students receive feedback instantly. They will work with terms about Skåne’s geography, history or landmarks. (Skåne is the southern part of Sweden where Malmö is located). https://quizlet.com/en-gb/teachers
Bingel: It is a digital skills training program for students. The program adjusts the questions or the difficulty of exercises depending on the way the students answer. The students receive feedback instantly. The teacher can see all the students’ answers.
Magic 3: It is a digital English book that the students are using for the English class. They can listen to the text, read or do different kind of exercises online.

CodeMonkey. Our students at Lindänge school have the opportunity to learn computer science. One of the programming languages my students are taught is CodeMonkey. CodeMonkey is an online game that teaches how to code. Students have to program a monkey to get all the bananas from the bad gorilla who has stolen them. In this adventure game the monkey meets different friends to help him get his bananas back. This programming language helps students’ problem-solving skills, geometric, mathematical thinking, logic and creativity. The students solve problems through writing real code.

Using sign language to facilitate oral language with Green screen technology. The special needs students in grades 7 to 9 have learnt to use sign language to sing their favorite songs. They have been introduced to the use of the green screen technology to create their own learning resources. Our educational objectives were to develop students' ability to use words, symbols and reflect on the relationship between cause and effect with digital tools.

In order to manage the classroom in a fun and effective way, I and some other teachers are using the reward based digital system called ClassDojo. Students can download it as an app and I can give them instant feedback on their classroom behaviour. The tool allows many other features too, like a randomized student selection when dividing students into groups or asking questions.
Library
Visit to the Lindänge school library:
Meet the librarian, who will talk about the physical and online resources that the library provides for the pupils. The librarian, the ICT Lead Teacher and the ICT technician are working together as a team to help and support the pupils with their chromebooks.
